"Just want to let you know we had an absolutely wonderful trip to France. As the Globus French Sampler tour name implies, we saw a lot! Thank you so much for all your suggestions. The flights, tour, etc all went well." Cindy M.

FAVORITE TRAVEL MEMORIES: Hiking the 150-mile Annapurna Circuit trail in Nepal; living in a bamboo hut for two months on Boracay Island, Philippines; painting the sea from my hotel balcony on Crete; the cooking class I took in Hoi-An Vietnam, snorkeling in the Red Sea and riding a bike along the Sea of Galilee, Global Volunteers vacation in Costa Rica, my humanitarian trip to Cuba, swinging on a trapeze at Club Med in Cancun, escorting five of our guide dog cruises, dogsledding in Alaska, touring a vanilla plantation on Moorea, witnessing whirling dervishes in Istanbul, scuba diving in a sunken WWII ship in Micronesia, tea ceremony in Tokyo and soaking in Iceland's Blue Lagoon. I most recently walked a portion of the pilgrimage route of St. James to Santiago de Compostela with Backroads and rode a camel to a Bedouin camp in Morocco's Sahara Desert.
Background
I studied television production in college and then worked at an advertising agency in San Diego. My husband and I sold everything we owned in 1982 and traveled around the world for 2 years. I taught English in Japan for a year and fell in love with the country. After traveling, I worked at SOBEK (the whitewater rafting company before it merged with Mountain Travel) and at Backroads (the active vacation company in Berkeley) for ten years. After managing group travel at Dimensions in Travel for eight years, I bought the agency in 2007 with Jill Romano as my business partner. |
